Scope: To lead, oversee, and develop all aspects of children’s ministry (birth through fifth grade) including staff development, volunteer training, programming, curriculum, and special events.

Responsibilities
- Create and communicate a compelling vision.
- Communicate progress toward achieving vision with ministry team each week.
- Recruit, equip, develop, and direct a team of volunteers who can reach and disciple children.
- Provide a safe environment for our children.
- Oversee leadership training of children’s ministry staff and volunteers through events, mentoring, and on-the-job training.
- Coordinate parent education efforts within children’s ministry.
- Oversee and lead the paid and volunteer children’s ministries staff.
- Create and coordinate programming of all Children’s Ministry activities, including Sunday mornings, mid-week classes and special events.
- Oversee short and long-term planning for ministry.
- Ensure that curriculum is both biblical and relevant.
- Teach children in large group settings as needed.
- Develop and ensure adherence to annual budget.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policy and procedures.
- Provide counseling and encouragement to families, children, and volunteers.
- Pastoral responsibilities, (baptism, parent/child dedications, F1 contacts, pastor on-call, etc.)
- Attend weekly staff meetings and any additional leadership or church-wide events required by senior leadership.

Requirements
As a religious organization, all employees must affirm and adhere to the Church’s Doctrinal Statement of Faith and Statement on Marriage and Human Sexuality based upon its sincerely held religious beliefs, to qualify for involvement with the ministry. This is necessary to accomplish the Church’s religious mission, goals, and purpose.
- Growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and as Lord.
- Active membership and participation at Northwest Bible Church.
- Proven experience in a multi-staff, multi-service environment of at least 3 years.
- Master’s degree.
- A track record of recruiting, training and retaining a volunteer staff of adults.
- A passion to relevantly reach and disciple children to passionately pursue Jesus.
- A desire to partner with the Junior and Senior High Ministers in intentionally ministering to parents.
- Willingness to participate in the development of an overall family ministry strategy.
- Strong organizational, time-management, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
- A creative team player able to think outside the box.
- Position requires a full-time presence in the office from Monday through Thursday, Wednesday nights and Sundays.
