The mission of Dallas Theological Seminary as a professional, graduate-level school is to glorify God by equipping godly servant-leaders for the proclamation of His Word and the building up of the body of Christ worldwide.

The Dallas Community and Church Specialist is a great position for those near the end of their degree program. He or she will develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy in the Dallas area, connect with prospective students through various means (meetings, phone calls, emails, text messages), meet with pastors and ministry leaders at churches and parachurch organizations, and foster deeper relationships with church and ministry partners.

Duties/Responsibilities:
In consultation with the Director and Assistant Director(s), develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy in the Dallas area.
Call, email, and text prospective students, and leave interaction notes on the CRM (Slate).
Arrange meetings with pastors and ministry leaders in the Dallas area and develop creative avenues to promote DTS to their staff, church members, and/or constituents.
Network with alumni in the Dallas area to help in recruitment efforts.
Recruit and foster deeper relationships with church partners in the Dallas area (e.g., Watermark Institute and The Village Institute).
In conjunction with the Admissions Counselors, recruit and foster deeper relationships with ministry partners in the Dallas area (e.g., YoungLife).
Meet with prospective students through scheduled appointments to introduce them to the seminary, give counsel regarding degree program choice, and answer questions about DTS, degree programs, scholarships, and the application process.
Represent DTS on recruitment trips, including transportation, setup, and takedown of recruiting displays and publications. Reinforce seminary ties on such field trips (e.g., with alumni and college faculty).
Attend Admissions and interdepartmental meetings.
Carry out additional projects as assigned by the Director and Assistant Director(s).
Able to travel in the Dallas area (50%-60% of the time) – including occasional Sunday mornings at local-area churches
Exhibits excellent personal relationship and communication/public speaking skills
Possesses a high caliber of discernment and able to give careful concern to detail
Demonstrates outstanding customer service and the desire to serve prospective students
Flexible personality, self-starter, and results-oriented
Awareness of the intricacies of theological higher education and the ability to learn DTS degree programs
Awareness of the competencies and training required for various vocational and volunteer ministries
Computer literate and able to efficiently use our computer systems to record activities and correspond via email
Strong character, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
Possesses theological awareness

Education and Experience:
Conferred bachelor’s degree
Conferred master’s degree preferred; in-progress master’s degree required
Previous experience in sales or ministry
Experience with CRM software (Slate or similar product) a plus

Physical Requirements:
Able to lift and transport materials of up to thirty (30) pounds on occasion, including setting up the DTS display on the field.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Prolonged periods of time on the phone or video conference sessions.
