The Assistant Director of Relationships is responsible for creating a welcoming environment, providing friendly and exceptional service, and responding to the needs of Day School children, families, and staff.
This position requires an outgoing, “people person” with a gift for hospitality; who is able to engage with hundreds of people each day, make every interaction warm and welcoming, and ensure that each person feels as though they are important and known.
Reports To: Director, Day School
FLSA Status: Exempt
Campus: Mockingbird
Working Hours: This is a Full-time position with benefits that will work an anticipated 40 hours per week.
Anticipated Schedule: Monday- Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Welcoming (25%)
- Create a welcoming environment for families and staff
- Greet children, parents, and visitors
- Provide exceptional customer service
Staff Relationships (50%)
- Supervise direct reports
- Float Teachers
- On-call Substitute Teachers
- Manage staffing
- Classroom compliance with teacher/child ratios
- Daily staffing schedule and covering absences
- Time off requests
- Substitute staffing (Internal and Contracted Agencies)
- Coordinate schedules for “Specials” classes
- Support Assistant Directors
- Support teachers and staff
- Rounding of classrooms
- Respond to Teacher needs
- Administrative Support
- Communicate needs to appropriate supervising AD
Operations Management (25%)
- Manage Supplies
- Inventory and purchasing
- Distribution
- Coordinate Building Services
- Submit repair and maintenance requests
- Ensure compliance with health and safety
Additional Responsibilities
- Support Director to ensure compliance with Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards and NAEYC Best Practices
- Other duties as assigned by Director
Additional Requirements:
- CPR and First Aid Certifications (can be completed while employed)
- Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills
Education and Desired Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Early Childhood Education or Children’s Ministry experience preferred
Physical Demands:
Sitting Standing Walking Climbing Stairs Fine Motor Skills
Seeing Hearing Speaking Lifting/carrying up to 10-25 pounds
