POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a full-time Director of Adult & Children’s Ministries to further First Methodist Carrollton’s mission of filling every neighborhood with the Good News of God’s love by building, growing, and sustaining our adult and children’s ministries, with a specific emphasis on reaching young families.
ADULT/DISCIPLESHIP MINISTRY
- Work with the Discipleship Committee in planning and implementing programming for adults, as well as attend monthly Discipleship meetings.
- Encourage new members and guests to participate in the Discipleship Pathway, by encouraging them to join a Sunday Class, attend an eight week Emotionally Healthy Discipleship class, or be involved in a core group.
- Recruit, train and support adult teachers as needed in Sunday classes, Wednesday Night programming, and core groups.
- Recruit and provide support for modular classes, Emotionally Healthy Discipleship, and discipleship events.
- Provide training and appreciation events for teachers.
- Prepare an annual budget for adult and children’s ministries.
- Help with outreach events as needed.
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
- Recruit/staff/train the Sunday morning and Wednesday night teams for grades K-4, including ordering and distributing curriculum. Assist teachers as needed.
- Attend and support the Children’s Committee meetings.
- Encourage children/parents/teachers in regard to various needs. Provide teacher training experiences for the teachers.
- Plan and supervise specific programming within the children's ministry, i.e. Vacation Bible School, summer camp, summer activities, Confirmation Sunday, Second Grade Bible presentation, and Breakfast with Santa.
- Plan and prepare with worship staff a child-friendly Christmas Eve service
- Plan for and support the team that provides for the preteen bible study and its activities on Wednesday nights (E.N.D. Zone), annual retreat, outreach events, and social activities
- Oversee compliance of background checks and Ministry Safe training for all employees and working with Infants – 6th grade.
- Preparation/submission of articles to the Communication Director, highlighting the children's ministry of the church.
- Other duties as assigned by the Associate Pastor
A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree required, prefer candidate have a Master’s level education
- 5-10 years’ experience in a local church ministry
- Strong personal faith and a biblical foundation that aligns with First Methodist Carrollton

Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
