General Summary of the Position
The Director of Advancement is responsible for institutional fundraising and is responsible for creating the development plan and successfully implementing development activities for St. Patrick Catholic School. In collaboration with the administration, applicable boards, and school organizations, the director will implement the school development program and cultivate relationships with key constituent groups. The development plan, under the director’s supervision and leadership, will advance the mission, vision, and philosophy of the school. This position reports to the principal. There are some weekend and evening requirements, including attendance at board and council meetings.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position
Promote understanding, acceptance and support for the vision, mission, and objectives of the St. Patrick School and Church
Engage in high level advocacy for Catholic education on behalf of St. Patrick Catholic School.
Establish and manage a comprehensive development and marketing program for SPS.
Achieve measurable development and fundraising goals as established by the administration and the development director.
Establish, manage, and prioritize a comprehensive list of potential donors.
Implement a plan to cultivate and develop relationship with such donors.
Stewardship of donor relations including donor recognition, engagement with mission, and gift acknowledgement.
Develop and direct the annual Legacy Campaign, capital campaigns, and major fundraisers.
Serve as liaison between the administration and the parent teacher association and oversee volunteer run fundraising events.
Develop and implement, in collaboration with the school and church Communications Directors, marketing plans to promote the School and community events and to support Admissions.
Publish the Annual Report.
Develop and oversee an alumni relations program for former school students and parents.
Ensure compliance with policies/procedures of St. Patrick Catholic School and Diocese of Dallas.
Accept and embrace all other assignments and responsibilities as directed by the Principal or Pastor.

Job Requirements

Position Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Highly skilled in developing nurturing interpersonal relations and communications with staff, volunteers, donors, new families, and members of the parish.
Excellent verbal and written skills.
Strong presentation and computer skills including use of Donor Connect.
Ability to develop and cultivate relationships with officials in the business and foundation community in support of seeking grant funding.
Strong in strategic planning, analytical and critical thinking, organizational abilities, leadership, and marketing skills.
Ability to meet established plans, goals, deadlines, and objectives.
Strong initiative, high energy, and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities.
Creative and proactive problem solver.
Proven ability to identify, cultivate, and complete major gift prospects.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Team player, flexible, able to deal with changing priorities, able to work well with staff, donors, and parishioners.

Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or higher
Experience in development in a small-size nonprofit setting.
