PRIMARY FUNCTION
Working in close collaboration with the Pastor, the Director of Development and Marketing (DDM) is a full-time position that supports the school by directing all development strategies and public relations services at the direction or discretion of the Pastor and in close collaboration with the Principal of the school. The DDM reports to the Pastor.
This individual is the external face of the school and spends most of their time creating, building, and encouraging partnerships with community and business leaders, the secular community, local High Schools, businesses, and the parish community. The DDM collaborates with the Pastor in soliciting major gift donors and prospects. They are
responsible for all major fundraising efforts for the school including an annual Auction and the Annual Challenge Drive. The DDM works closely with the Director of Admissions to ensure all marketing materials and external communications are well crafted and effective.
The Director of Development and Marketing is a member of the School’s Leadership Team. The Leadership Team consists of the Pastor, Principal, Assistant Principal, Director of Development and Marketing, Director of Admissions and the Parish Director of Development.

Responsibilities:
FUNDRAISING
Collaborate with the Director of Development at Mary Immaculate Church (MIC).
Create a strategic fundraising plan for Mary Immaculate School (MIS).
Plan, develop and execute strategies for obtaining donations.
Identify, cultivate and solicit potential donors and sponsors – such as current parents, alumni parents, corporations and foundations – for all major capital endeavors.
Identify, cultivate and secure Legacy Circle donors through wills, life insurance, trusts and retirement plan designations for a school Endowment program.
Research and write grant proposals that support segments of the school’s long-range capital improvement plans.
Ensure all donors and gifts receive proper acknowledgement (gratitude phone calls, personal notes, invitations, etc.) and follow IRS rules and guidelines.
Oversee and ensure a successful school Auction.
Direct and manage the Annual Challenge Drive.
PUBLIC RELATIONS
Build and oversee an Alumni association and Grandparents’ Club through the effective recruitment and management of volunteers.
Oversee, manage and/or plan all donor and volunteer appreciation events.
Collaborate with the Leadership Team in activities that strengthen the relationship between the school and its external constituents (i.e., alumni, alumni parents, businesses, parents, donors, parishioners, and friends).
Attend local Chamber of Commerce activities in an effort to build stronger relationships within the community and business community.
Ensure the MIS website and its social media profiles are active, current, engaging and professional.
Attend all major community and parish events.
Attend monthly School Advisory Council (SAC) meetings and provide relevant reports.
Contact and cultivate various local organizations (universities, high schools, business, etc.) to develop long lasting and beneficial partnerships.
MARKETING
Develop a marketing plan and strategy to attract new entities and donors to the school.
Ensure all marketing materials for the school are of the highest quality.
Produce and publish an annual Impact Report.
Produce and publish advertisements, especially in the Parish Bulletin and Texas Catholic.
ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES
Works with the Business Manager to manage and maintain all records regarding fundraising activities, donors and sponsors within the donor database
Prepare all monthly and yearly donor reports.
Attend weekly Leadership Team meetings and provide relevant reports.
Attend weekly staff meetings.
Prepare a yearly strategic plan including calendar, budget and goals for development and marketing

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or at least 6 years of experience.
Fluent in English (written and oral).
Excellent communication and hospitality skills.
Passionate about Catholic schools and adept at explaining the benefits of a Catholic education.
A team player.
Identify and recruit volunteers. Delegate responsibilities to volunteers.
Able to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Maintain a professional appearance.
Conduct and analyze research regarding school’s marketing and development efforts to continue growing our income and presence.
Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills.
A member of the parish.
Dependable, prompt and able to learn and adapt.
Willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends.
