Responsibilities include building relationships with the families, youth and children, the staff and families of the preschool and finding ways to invite the preschool families into the life of the church, picking relevant curriculum, understanding social media, it's trends and impact on youth and young adults, as well as its use as a tool for outreach. Helping the church engage with families in the community or students at UTD are areas for creative experimentation and growth.
The ideal candidate should have excellent people skills with an ability to relate to all age groups, an understanding of Christian education, curriculum, and learning styles, knowledge of faith development in children and youth, strong verbal and written communication skills, understanding of social media trends and the impact on youth and families, professionalism in working with a variety of people, the ability to keep confidence, and maintain appropriate boundaries.
Godly Playtraining or familiarity with liturgical worship is a bonus! Hours are 15-20 hours/week with a flexible schedule, but Sundays are required.
