Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission the school
Supports and adheres to the Code of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school and Catholic Diocese of Dallas.
Abides by the Confidentiality Policy set forth in The Highlands School Employee Handbook
Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive at the front lobby of the main building
Maintains school security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the receptionist desk (scan guest IDs into Renweb and issue guest badge)
Contacts the appropriate person and office to escort any/all guests into the school
Answers and forwards incoming phone calls (within 3 rings)
Determine the best administrator/staff member to assist with guests calling the school/needing assistance
Ensures reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and materials
Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
Maintains a positive and professional attitude/approach when dealing with conflict resolution situations
Coordinates through principal front desk coverage during breaks or time off work
Maintains a desktop manual with frequently asked questions, processes, and procedures
Contacts staff via email and receives packages from the driver
Preforms a variety of school functions: records tardy, daily attendance, distributes mail, materials, maintains filing system
Job Requirements
Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church.
Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative, or similar role.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Hands-on experience with office equipment.
Solid written and communication skills
Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
Excellent organizational skills.
Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
Professional attitude and appearance
Customer service attitude.
