Basketball Gym Monitor Department: Highland Kids + Students + Families- Recreation Ministry Tier: Part-Time Work Schedule: Monday- Friday - varies, potentially some weekends Purpose of This Position The vision of Highland Park Presbyterian Church is to lead all generations to become transformed followers of Jesus, for the flourishing of our city and beyond. The Recreation Department seeks to advance and support that vision through being inviting and welcoming to members and non-members of Highland Park Presbyterian Church that use the gym through rentals or leagues played here. The Basketball Gym Monitor supports the Recreation Department/Ministry and the vision for Highland Park Presbyterian Church by hosting groups that use the gym after work hours. Desired Results/Impact of This Position Guests will feel welcomed and invited Each person who comes through the gym doors experiences the light of Jesus Positive feedback from staff and congregation regarding gym usage Key Responsibilities Have the gym open and locked up after each event Put out sports equipment when needed for gym rental Clean gym and floor once guests leave Be the point person in the gym if the guests need something or an emergency arises Education, Experience, Skill, Ability Requirements Currently in or graduated from college Knowledge of sports AED, First Aid and CPR certified (or willing to be trained) Working Conditions Frequent lifting under 30 lbs Ability to maintain composure under pressure Workplace Expectations Loves Jesus, the people of HP Pres, the city of Dallas and the world Acts as an advocate of the culture and vision of HP Pres Christian Faith aligned with the beliefs of HP Pres Commits to and exhibits the Core Values of HP Pres We create value We actively grow We invest in relationships
