This full-time position is responsible for helping lead youth into a meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ. The Female High School Youth Pastor will work on a team with other youth staff and will focus primarily on 9th and 12th grade youth ministry. This position will include casting vision for the high school ministry, delivering large group messages, leading small group Bible studies, managing a large team of volunteers, and supporting the entire youth ministry and church with its mission, vision, and strategy.

The Female High School Youth Pastor must thrive in a fast-paced, highly relational, creative environment with tight deadlines and busy schedules.

FLSA Status: Exempt

 


Campus: Mockingbird

 


Working Hours: This is a Full-time position that will work at least 36 hours per week.

 


Anticipated Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8:30 – 5:00 (provides for a 30 min unpaid lunch); Wednesday 11:30 - 8:00 (provides for a 30 min unpaid lunch); Sunday 8:00-12:00.

 


During certain times of the year additional hours may be necessary to meet the demands of the job. All church staff are expected to support and serve for religious holidays and worship services including Christmas Eve and Easter.

 


Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Serve as Youth Pastor for 9th-12th grade students and their families
  • Work with other HPUMC Youth staff to plan and execute all high school environments
  • Recruit and train volunteers to cultivate appropriate personal relationships with high school students
  • Write high school sermon and Bible study curriculum
  • Develop and disciple students 9th-12th
  • Plan and lead high school mission trip and core group leadership trip
  • Other duties as assigned. Changes to job may occur at any time and without notice.

Education and Desired Skills:

  • Undergraduate degree required; post-grad education a plus
  • 3+ years in Youth Ministry or related field
  • Experience in large church ministry
  • Experience in delivering powerful biblical messages to youth regularly
  • Good computer skills: email, Internet, other applications

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrates enthusiasm and positive attitude
  • High degree of initiative and accountability
  • Ability to manage and motivate volunteers
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills

Preferred Software Experience:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • G Suite (Google, Gmail, Calendar, etc…)
  • Touch Point, ProPresenter
  • TikTok and Instagram

Physical Demands:

  • Sitting Standing Walking Seeing Hearing
  • Speaking Lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds Fine Motor Skills
