The Kid Ministry Coordinator for Connections will implement strategies in order to reach our goal of having kids and families who follow Jesus together. This role will focus on building relationships with parents and church members in order to connect them to serving opportunities in HPUMC Kids. Duties will include building and maintaining relationships with parents and connecting them with serving opportunities as well as administrative - organizing, coordinating, and executing on needs specific to the ministry. This role requires a great deal of collaboration, autonomy, good judgment and the ability to see multiple projects through to completion with minimal errors. The Coordinator for Connections must thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment with tight deadlines and busy schedules.

FLSA Status: Exempt
Campus: Mockingbird Campus – Dallas, TX
Working Hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week.
Anticipated Schedule: Monday- Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (including a 30-minute lunch break); Sunday 7:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. During certain times of the year additional hours may be necessary to meet the demands of the job.
Sunday responsibilities: Serve at the Welcome Desk for young children and elementary children (alternating as needed), actively seek out parents and volunteers to build relationships, and support the work of the Coordinator for Kids by serving in areas as assigned.
During certain times of the year additional hours may be necessary to meet the demands of the job. All church staff will be asked to support and serve for religious holidays and worship services including Christmas Eve and Easter.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Support the work of the HPUMC Kids Team in their efforts related to kids, parents, and staff
Oversees all aspects of volunteer coordination for Kids Ministry including recruiting, training, scheduling, supporting, thanking and retaining individuals for their service
Collaborates with the Coordinator for Staffing and Volunteers to track serving hours, contact information, and compliance with child protection policies
Works with other members of the Kids Ministry Team to recruit for Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, VBS, and other events throughout the year
Actively looks for ways to connect with HPUMC congregants through ministry events and speaking engagements
Oversees all communications with volunteers
Serve as a team player who supports weekly programs and special events for kids and assists in the recruitment and retention of volunteers
Attend and participate in weekly meetings for children's ministry team and HPUMC staff
Provide assistance with tasks for parents when needed
Other duties as assigned

Education and Desired Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree
Experience in project management with church or company events is preferred
Proficient writing skills and proofreading
Demonstrates enthusiasm and positive attitude
High degree of initiative and accountability
Strong organization skills
