Responsibilities
The Kids Music & Worship Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing all children's choirs (ages 4 through 5thgrade) and integrating children's music/singing/participation into worship, both for the entire congregation (all venues) and for child specific worship and fellowship opportunities
He/She will work closely in collaboration both with the Traditional Music Ministry team as well as the Children's Ministry team to continuously create an environment that warmly and lovingly teaches the foundations of our faith through music and worship in which children are individually known, loved and welcomed with open arms

Anticipated Schedule: Sunday 7:30am - 12:30pm;Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 5:00pm (provides for a 30 min unpaid lunch break)During certain times of the year additional hours may be necessary to meet the demands of the job
Job Responsibilities and Duties:Some core responsibilities of the job include:Oversee, organize, select repertoire and plan yearly calendar and formation of ideas for Kids Choirs and their participation in worship and special services
Oversee and organize team of leaders and vet/recruit volunteers for different choirs/Sunday School music team
Plan scope/sequence of Sunday mornings: how Kids Choirs and Sunday School Music Time coexist and are mutually beneficial to one another
Be an active, involved member of both the Music Ministry and Kids Ministry teams
Be consistent "face" of kids music across multiple venues from Sunday School, to choirs, to VBS, family nativity service, etc
Collaborate with the HPUMC for 4-5 year olds, "Music Time" with parent/caregiver (approx
two mornings per week during school year)Plan, implement and direct an annual summer music camp, spring musical and summer VBS music
Teach healthy and age appropriate singing and provide opportunities for worship involvement on Sundays and throughout the year (Acolytes, Orff, bells, percussion, scripture readings, etc.)Teach foundations of our faith through bible stories, songs to ages 4 through 5thgradeCollaborate interdepartmentally to bring about exceptional musical, worship and fellowship opportunities for the children of HPUMC and their families
Encourage and lay the groundwork for lifelong service through singing
Be a good steward of church and departmental funds
