General Position Summary:
Responsible for all maintenance, cleanliness, and repair of parish facilities and rectory.

Principal Accountabilities:
Regularly inspects and oversees the repairs, maintenance, and cleanliness of all parish buildings, rectory, and grounds.
Manages vendor relationships with all trades.
Order supplies, maintain inventory, and develop good relationships with vendors.
Helps with a variety of installations, repairs and renovations to buildings including but not limited to painting, electrical fixtures, switches, hot water heaters, sinks, commodes, appliances, heating and cooling systems, sewer lines, irrigation sprinklers and semi-skilled tasks in construction, carpentry, plumbing, and concrete.
Removing of snow and ice from parking lots, ramps, and walkways.
Responsible for all tools, and equipment.
Provides other general assistance as needed by setting up the facilities, hauling, moving, and picking up items and equipment as requested.
Responsible for all other projects, and tasks as assigned.

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:
This position works in a typical facilities environment but is subject to stress due to the evolving and quickly expanding maintenance needs, adverse weather conditions and occasional heavy workloads.

Ability to lift 50lbs, climb ladders and work from elevated platforms.
Required to work nights and weekends as needed.
Required to perform strenuous walking, stooping, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing, twisting, grasping, and reaching overhead.

Travel Requirements:
Limited travel required for as needed pickups, training, and purchasing supplies.

Education and Experience Preferred:
High School graduate required.
Valid Driver’s License required.
4-7 years of maintenance and facilities experience required.
Technical school or equivalent experience a plus.
Bi-lingual skills (English/Spanish) a plus.

Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church.
Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining a cooperative relationship with staff and parishioners.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Skills in critical thinking and planning.
Good time management skills with an availability to work flexible hours and weekends when needed.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Must be available by cell phone for emergencies.
Must be able to pass a background check and complete Safe Environment training.
