Royal Lane Baptist Church (RLBC), is a mid-sized, progressive Baptist church in North Dallas with a 70+
year history. RLBC is a diverse community united in Jesus Christ and is committed to the advancement
of the Kingdom of God. Motivated by the teachings of Jesus, RLBC is actively engaged in social justice,
racial reconciliation, and LGBTQ+ inclusion. RLBC is seeking a full-time Minister to Children, Youth, and
Families (MCYF).
As a collaborative Christian leader, this minister will play a crucial role in nurturing the faith development
of our church’s children, youth, and their families, and a strong sense of community among them and with
the church as a whole. We seek a minister who is creative, inclusive, compassionate, and relational, who
is skilled in planning and helping to execute meaningful programs according to biblically based and socially
relevant curricula, and who is gifted in cultivating authentic relationships with children, youth, current
and potential church members, as well as with the adult volunteers who work with these ministries.

Qualifications:
● A calling and passion for working in a church context with children and youth
(Ages 0-18), and their families, as well as with ministry team members
● Educational training for practical, contextual ministry
● Spiritual maturity as a follower of Christ
● Theological alignment with our diverse and progressive congregation
● At least three (3) years working with children and/or youth in a leadership role
Responsibilities:
● Re-energizing and strengthening the children and youth ministries of Royal Lane, while building relationships and cultivating strong connections with children, youth, and families through both
programs and in informal settings with and among the families.
● Helping parents and guardians inspire curiosity and spiritual interest in their children
● Guiding and providing leadership for:
o Sunday School (weekly)
o Godly Play (weekly)
o Lead Wednesday evening programming (weekly)
o Staffing of the nursery (weekly)
o Youth Activities (semimonthly)
o Christian camping (summer)
o Vacation Bible School (summer)
o Family and intergenerational events (seasonal)
o Recruitment, organization and supervision of paid staff and volunteers, also making
certain each is in compliance with our CHILD PROTECTION POLICY
o Review and maintenance of curriculum that aligns with Royal Lane’s theology and
programming
o Maintenance of supplies and spaces that are used for children and youth to ensure a
safe and welcoming environment
o Mission opportunities
● Working in partnership with the Youth Steering Committee, the Children’s Steering Committee,
and the Education Committee to maintain a vision and supportive core for their areas of
responsibility
● Maintaining excellent communication – targeted, effective, and consistent
● Managing relevant budgets and finances
● Participating in weekly Staff meetings and monthly Deacons meetings as an advocate for
children, youth, and their families.
● Reporting to the Senior Pastor
This new ministry position calls for a person with a vision for how a congregation can develop an
active, inclusive means for engaging, equipping, and being responsive to its youngest members.

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
