Munger Female Youth Pastor
Munger Place Youth exists to create environments where young people become deeply-devoted followers of Jesus. Munger Youth is designed to be a safe place for young people in all phases of their Christian journey to ask questions and wrestle with grace, teenage life, and what it means to be a deeply-devoted follower of Jesus.
Reports To: Munger Youth Director, Munger Place
FLSA Status: Exempt
Campus: Munger Place
Working Hours: This is a Full-time position that will work at least 36 hours per week.
Anticipated Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursdays from 8:30-5:00 p.m.; Wednesdays 12:30-9:00 p.m.; Sundays from 8:00-12:00 p.m. A thirty-minute break minimum is required Monday through Thursday. During certain times of the year additional hours may be necessary to meet the demands of the job. All church staff will be asked to support and serve for religious holidays and worship services including Christmas Eve and Easter.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Essential duties include the items listed below, plus other duties as required or assigned.
- Serve as the primary female pastor to Munger Youth (this includes Confirmation)
- Work alongside the Director of Munger Youth to develop and implement a ministry vision for Munger Youth.
- Maintain regular ‘contact’ ministry with involved and uninvolved youth i.e. in schools, in the community, etc.
- Help plan and lead all Munger Youth weekly gatherings and group ministry.
- Attend and assist in planning/implementing major ministry events i.e. mission trips, retreats, camps, etc.
- Meet weekly with the Director of Munger Youth to pray over, plan for, and evaluate the ministry to Munger Youth.
- Be available alongside the Director of Munger Youth as a pastoral contact for Munger Youth and their families.
- Help enlist and train a growing team of adult and student leaders.
- Provide oversight to all Munger Youth ministry communication i.e. social media presence, website content, email communication, etc.
- Spend time each week with Munger Staff for fellowship, prayer, and planning.
- Support the regular ministry of Munger Place Church and its staff for church-wide events such as Mungerfest, VBS, Church-wide Bible Studies, etc.
- Explore and coordinate service opportunities for Munger Youth
Education & Desired Skills:
- Undergraduate degree required; post-grad education a plus
- 3+ years in Youth Ministry or ministry related field
- Experience in large church ministry
- Experience in delivering powerful biblical messages to youth regularly
- Demonstrates enthusiasm and positive attitude
- High degree of initiative and accountability
- Ability to manage and motivate volunteers
- Strong organization skills
