Job Description: Munger Place Operations Manager

The right person for this role is an organized, detail-oriented, and flexible leader. The essence of doing this job well is “making sure the trains are running on time” at Munger Place. The Operations Manager at Munger Place Church will maintain the current standard of operational excellence at Munger Place while developing new, efficient methods for doing the work of a growing church. Reports To: Executive Director, Munger Place
FLSA Status: Exempt
Campus: Munger Place
Working Hours: Thisfull-time positiont will work an anticipated 36.5 hours per week.
Anticipated Schedule: Tuesday - Friday from 8:30am - 5:00pm (includes an unpaid 30 min lunch); and Sunday from 7:30am - 12:30pm.
During certain times of the year, additional hours may be necessary to meet the demands of the church. All church staff will be asked to support and serve for religious holidays and worship services, including Christmas Eve and Easter.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Essential duties include the items listed below, plus other duties as required or assigned.

  • Work with Executive Director’s vision in setting short and long-term operational priorities for the campus
  • Be proactive in finding ways to remove urgent/important operational tasks from Executive Director’s plate so Executive Director can focus on non-urgent/important strategic tasks
  • Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the facilities and event spaces, including space management, scheduling of after-hours support such as cleaning and event porters
  • Work with Head of Security to ensure facilities are accessible for all events and secure at the end of each evening.
  • Ensure weekly and unique events are resourced appropriately ii. e., rooms are set up, broken down, and cleaned afterward.
  • Oversee work teams for all special events (Easter, MungerFest, Xmas) and take the lead on obtaining all permits and setup items such as tents, service vehicles, etc.
  • Work with facilities maintenance in overseeing third-party vendors such as alarm companies, pest control, landscaping companies, etc
  • Work with Executive Director to build master operational playbook and event task lists
  • Regularly inspect all facilities for cleanliness and tidy organization to ensure a seamless transition of use between events
  • Responsible for managing the Operations staff and volunteers, i.e., welcome desk coordinator, worship coordinator, greeting, and parking teams.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years experience or 15+ years experience in an operations management role. Master’s degree in business administration or leadership-related field preferred.

Preferred Software Experience:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • G Suite (Google, Gmail, Calendar)
  • Touch Point

Physical Demands:

  • Sitting Standing Walking Seeing Hearing
  • Speaking, Lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds. Fine Motor Skills
