Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Provides service music (organ and/or piano) for the weekly Sunday morning worship service, prelude; postlude; hymns.
2. Plays for all services outside of Sunday morning, i.e. Holy Week, Christmas Eve, etc.
3. Plays for special concerts planned in coordination with the Director of Music
4. Has a good working knowledge of the liturgical church year seasons.
5. Accompanies the Adult Choir for weekly Wednesday evening rehearsals.
6. Coordinates selection of preludes and postludes for worship with the Director of Music.
7. Plays for weddings and memorial services as needed. Each service is an extra pay.
8. If substitute is needed, the organist is expected to coordinate with the Dir. of Music.
9. Care for the pianos by filling the dampf systems already installed, and expected to collaborate with the Dir. of Music regarding regular maintenance of the organ.
10. Flexibility with styles of music.

Qualifications:

Must hold a degree in music with emphasis on organ. Previous experience serving as an organist for church worship services is preferred. Advanced degrees in music are preferred but not required. Applicant must demonstrate competency in organ and piano.

Compensation:

The salary ranges from $20,000 - $25,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Continuing Ed. monies available.
