Full Job Description

Responsibilities include:
 Church Office
o Warmly greet visitors, assist callers, respond to general inquiries, create a welcoming atmosphere
o Assist Parish Secretary
o Screen and route all incoming calls and visitors to Pastor and Parochial Vicar; take record and convey messages accurately and promptly
o Remain informed on current and upcoming parish activities and able to answer questions about event details
o Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
o Assist parishioners with Mass Intention requests, baptismal class information, and issue sacramental certificate requests for sacramental records requested
o Handle emergency calls requesting sacraments from priests
o Attend Staff meetings and retreats
o Perform office tasks for priests, as needed

 Office of Evangelization and Catechesis OEC)
o Working closely with Children’s Ministry and Youth Programs
o Answer phone and direct visitors to OEC
o Record, update/maintain Sacrament data in PDS
o Prepare certificates for First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

 Must be English-Spanish bilingual (able to speak, write, and translate)
 Computer skills/experience with office software applications; should include Microsoft Publisher, Word, and Excel; data entry; currently using PDS (Parish Data System) will train
 Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills and pastoral attitude
 Data entry skills are important (PDS experience a plus) but will train
 Superior organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
 Confidentiality required
 Practicing Catholic required

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
o High School graduate
o Administrative experience preferred (2-3 years)
o Learn church and office policies
