Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop an optimal posting schedule, considering web traffic and engagement metrics
  • Advanced planning of social media campaigns using applicable systems
  • Assist in public relations needs including writing press releases and fielding inquiries
  • Create and execute a quarterly boulder grid consisting of problems, goals, and opportunities
  • Research audience preferences and discover current online trends
  • Work with Communications Team to create engaging text, image, and video content
  • Focus on converting Social Media followers to on-campus visits
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness
  • Monitor and respond to comments as appropriate
  • Report on performance metrics and sentiment
  • Oversee social media accounts’ layouts and keep them updated
  • Assist the Communications Manager in churchwide and ministry-related project needs
  • Aid in Email Marketing in Communications Department
  • Copy editing print and digital outlets
  • Provide staff with social media guidance and encourage sharing of posts
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Communications

Professional & Education (Certifications or Licenses)

  • Embody the Green Team Characteristics and work according to Operating Principles
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or equivalent
  • 1 – 2 years of professional Social Media or Communications employment experience preferred
  • Availability to be on call for Social Media/ Communications duties as needed
  • Proficient with Social Media Platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; Adobe Acrobat; Dropbox
  • Prior experience with Project Management software
  • Must also be comfortable with digital platforms, iOS platform preferred
  • Must demonstrate a capacity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving environment and be readily assessable throughout the day to continually address any Social Media/Communications concerns and manage an online presence.

  • Ability to work effectively using a personal computer for long periods
  • Ability to sit for long periods
