Plans, directs, and coordinates all facets of the Student Ministry consisting of grades 7-12 with oversight of multiple staff members. Fosters a discipling culture amongst all students and adult leaders, while also creating an environment that is welcoming to unchurched teenagers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establishing students in the local church where they will be integrated into the group and anchored into in biblical community.
• Preparing students to share their faith and be disciple makers as well as and guiding them in their personal walk with God.
• Implementing effective follow-up system with prospects, assisting with follow up to first-time visitors via phone calls, emails, and texts.
• Implementing an effective campus ministry with regular visits to school activities to reach new students and encourage current students.
• Enlisting, training and equipping volunteers for Student Life Groups and one on one discipleship
• Training and equipping a Student Leadership team
• Extending opportunities for students to take an active role in service within the student ministry and church
• Providing local, domestic, and international mission opportunities for students of all ages following the model of Acts 1:8.
• Endeavoring to make each student event fit into the discipling mission of the church.
• Planning Student Ministry activities and calendar.
• Planning and coordinating Sunday and midweek services for students.
• Managing ministry budget
• Effectively communicating gospel truths to students.
• Continuing to seek new ways and means of reaching students in The Heights ministry area.
• Directing the Student Ministry staff.
• Counseling students and parents as well as occasionally visiting hospitals.
• Communicating and implementing the 5G vision to students and leaders.
• Being a part of the Groups team in coordinating, evaluating, planning and projecting.
• Fulfilling other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor and Executive Pastor Team.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION EXPECTATIONS

• Bachelor’s and Seminary Education preferred
• 2+ years full-time paid experience in student ministry
• Experience with student ministries of at least 150 students
• Has had direct oversight of paid staff members preferred
