Job Summary

The primary role of the Worship Leader is to craft an engaging and excellent worship experience during all church services, by creating an atmosphere that will bring about life-change.

The Worship Leader position is designed to provide musical leadership in leading worship for various venue worship events (i.e. Sunday corporate worship, Wednesday Night Services, and other events) which will involve anything from leading from a single instrument to having full worship team instrumentation.

Supervisory Responsibilities
• This is an individual contributor role with no supervisory responsibility.

Essential Functions
• Work with Worship Department Leader to plan and execute worship events for Concord Church.
• Select music and arrangements in consultation with the Worship Department Leader for worship events for Concord Church and upload all charts in Planning Center.
• Provide directions to the praise team and choirs during vocal/band rehearsal.
• Schedule volunteers for worship services and events.
• Personally, rehearsed and prepared to lead vocal/band rehearsal.
• Lead vocal/band rehearsal when scheduled.
• Lead congregational worship during worship services in a what that exhorts God and does not draw attention to oneself.
• Lift up and encourage team members to stretch their own personal abilities/talents in a way that encourage them to offer their very best to God.
• Provide a nurturing and caring atmosphere in all worship events and provide spiritual leadership to the team as well as the congregation.
• Attend and successfully completes all training as required by Concord Church.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills Needed
• Leadership - Having the ability to effectively lead groups of volunteers with confidence to achieve the worship goals.
• Musical Giftedness - Being skilled vocally and instrumentally to ensure worship is executed with excellence and minimizing distractions.
• Compassion - Understanding and caring for the hearts of the people you are called to lead.
• Contemporary - Staying relevant to the culture while keeping our focus on the worship of our Lord.
• A minimum of 5+ years of experience in leading worship and choral direction.
• Must be able to read music and lead SATB parts for rehearsals.
• Experience in leading full band contemporary worship and small group settings
• Ability to recruit and train a team of volunteers.

Physical Requirements
• An employee in this position primarily works in a typical office environment and uses computers, calculators, phones, printers, and other office equipment to fulfill the position duties.
• An employee in this position is required to do a significant amount of walking and lifting to set up for ministry activities, store supplies, and manage the inventory of items required to conduct ministry activities. An employee in this position is also required to walk, hear, speak, and stand to inspect the equipment and interact with customers, church members, and volunteers.
• Work is conducted in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
• The ability to manage stress, build professional and collaborative relationships, and reason through complex church business situations is required.
• A flexible schedule is required since this position requires evening and weekend work.

Travel Requirements

No travel is required for this position; however, a valid Texas drivers’ license and acceptable motor vehicle record is required.
