The Young Adult Ministry Coordinator and Parish Outreach Coordinator is a full-time position, an addition to the Evangelization and Discipleship Office at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Dallas, TX. Time will be spent in the Young Adult office and Parish Outreach/Engagement/Communications. The suitable candidate will be offered competitive pay and excellent benefits. The start date is immediate.
The Coordinator supports the Director in fulfilling the mission of the STA Young Adult ministry and the Parish-wide Communication by the coordination and facilitation of various activities, support of leaders, administrative & logistical tasks, marketing & outreach events, and other tasks as assigned by the Director. The ministry supports and empowers parishioners to become disciples of Jesus Christ. It shares God’s love with the young adults and young families in their 20s and 30s, as well as the parish through occasional significant events by presenting the gospel in a relevant and beautiful way, cultivating servant leadership, accompaniment, and living authentic Christian community.
The responsibilities of the coordinator are split in three ways:
Events: The coordinator is responsible for planning, marketing, and executing YA and some Parish wide events. These events include Thursday night gatherings, dinner groups, speaker series, Donut Sundays, monthly night of worship - Pange Lingua, retreats, and other seasonal events that foster community. They will be the point for the new and interested members in the community and for building a volunteer team to help organize events and create a robust welcome experience for everyone.
Discipleship: The coordinator is also responsible for regular communication and scheduling with the leadership team and the volunteers. The coordinator will offer formation, discipleship, and leadership training through one-on-one meetings, accountability, and team-building activities.
Administrative: The coordinator manages all the administrative work related to the young adult ministry and the parish outreach. This includes email and phone communication, completing expense reports, scheduling meetings and events, creating marketing materials, etc. They will oversee social media accounts and website updates and send regular newsletters.
Job Requirements
Job Requirements:
1. Experience with and knowledge of Catholic theology and Church Teachings.
2. Associates degree preferred. 3+ years of related experience is preferred.
3. A solid graphic design skillset (ex. Canva) is required, and musical background is preferred.
4. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
5. Able to work with a budget and oversee its implementation.
6. Able to organize, prioritize, use technology, and communicate by e-mail and mobile applications.
7. Position requires being an active member in the parish community of St. Thomas Aquinas.
