At least three 9-year-old students at The Covenant School in Nashville, including Hallie Scruggs, the daughter of a former pastor at Park Cities Presbyterian Church, were killed during a shooting on Monday.

Three adults died during the mass shooting incident.

Shooting Incident at Christian School

Chad Scruggs, current lead pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Nashville and former associate pastor at Park Cities Presbyterian Church in Dallas, is Hallie Scruggs' father.

The Park Cities Presbyterian Church issued a statement Monday night on its website to acknowledge its connection to the Nashville congregation.

According to MSN, the church stated that They are heartbroken at today's unthinkable tragedy at Nashville's Covenant Presbyterian School.

Several members of PCPC reportedly have close relationships with those of the Covenant Presbyterian Church, a sister church of PCPC.

"We love the Scruggs family and mourn with them over their precious daughter Hallie. Together, we trust in the power of Christ to draw near and give us the comfort and hope we desperately need," added the church, as quoted in the report.

On Tuesday, PCPC will gather in the Sanctuary to pray for the Scruggs family and the Nashville neighborhood. At noon, everyone will gather for prayer.

Police in Nashville, Tennessee, have released body cam footage from officers who responded to Monday's deadly shooting at the Christian school.

According to Yahoo! News, the authorities killed the shooter, a former student who they say legally purchased seven firearms, including the two assault rifles and a handgun she used in the attack.

The slaughter at Covenant School included three young victims and three adults. Authorities named Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney as the murdered children.

Substitute teacher Cynthia Peak, 61, custodian Mike Hill, 61, and principal Katherine Koonce, 60, were the adults killed during the shooting incident.

The perpetrator, a 28-year-old woman from Nashville named Audrey Elizabeth Hale, was also killed.

Legally-owned 7 Guns

Nashville Police Chief John Drake stated during a press conference early on Tuesday that Hale legally purchased seven weapons from five different stores.

According to what Hale's parents informed police, the 28-year-old was also receiving medical treatment for an emotional issue.

Per the report, he added that the police had no idea how she was being treated, and her parents opposed him getting a gun for her.

According to Drake, Hale's parents believed their daughter no longer owned any firearms because 'she had sold them.'

Investigators have not determined the motive for the murders.
