Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide careful and effective supervision of childrens activities
Assist in the implementation of Colorado child care licensing regulations
Carry out objectives developed for the Archdiocese of Denver
Assist children in establishing and maintaining standards of behavior set by the program
Use proactive strategies to guide appropriate behavior with positive reinforcement
Cooperate with other staff to create and maintain a harmonious social environment
Interact positively with parents and refer appropriate questions and concerns to the after-school care director
Maintain a clean and safe physical environment
Classroom/Leadership Responsibilities:
SUPERVISE ALL ACTIVITIES AT ALL TIMES TO ENSURE THE SAFETY AND WELL-BEING OF THE CHILDREN. NEVER LEAVE A CHILD UNATTENDED
Plan activities to provide Early Childhood experiences in all areas of development based on the schools educational and Catholic philosophy of learning.
Prepare and turn in WEEKLY lesson plans to your director
Provide and maintain a neat and organized classroom; take responsibility for the upkeep of all equipment and materials. Inform the director of any problems or supply needs.
Report all problems or concerns that may occur with staff, parents, volunteers, and children to the director
Supervise any assistant teacher, aide, or volunteer that may be working with you
Assist the director with any other related task that he/she has assigned or deems necessary
Maintain daily attendance and accounting of the children at ALL times
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Current Early Childhood Professional Credential as determined by the Colorado Department of Education
Must be able to pass a criminal background check for the Archdiocese and the state of Colorado
Ability to acquire CPR/First Aid/AED training within 30 days of hire
Compliance with Safe Environment requirements after being hired
Have an energetic and joyful disposition
Must understand and support the mission of Catholic education
