Description: Blessed Sacrament Catholic School seeks a caring, cooperative, and
motivated After-School Care Director. The Director is hired by and directly accountable to the
principal and pastor of the school. The Director is expected to abide by the policies and
procedures of the local school, the Archdiocese of Denver, and the Office of Catholic Schools.
They cooperate with the principal and staff in providing an environment that promotes the
ministry of Catholic education.
Blessed Sacrament provides after-school care Monday-Friday from 3:00-6:00 pm. The school
operates two after-school programs: Fledgling’s Nest for preschool students and Falcon’s Nest
for K-8th grade students. After-school care teachers support students in completing homework,
coordinate activities, and monitor students as they play indoors and on the playground. The
After-School Care Director manages the after-school care programs for Blessed Sacrament
Catholic School.
Education and Qualifications:
PDIS Early Childhood Teacher qualification and Early Childhood Director qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English
Ability to acquire CPR/First Aid training (within 30 days of hire)
Must be able to pass a criminal background check
Compliance with Safe Environment requirements (after being hired)
Preferred Qualifications:
Four-year degree in education, recreation, human services, or a related field. Non-related degrees are accepted with one year of full-time work experience with school-age children in a group setting (This is required for supervisor level).
Ability and the skill to exercise appropriate supervision and direction to children
Experience working with groups of 4 or more children
Demonstrate successful experience in program design and implementation for children
Proven ability to work effectively in a team and manage professionals
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Professional attitude regarding the childcare profession
Experience with special needs children
Job Duties & Responsibilities: The duties of the After-School Care Director will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Teach and act per doctrinal and moral teachings of the Catholic Church
Know, teach, and act consistently per the mission, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Blessed Sacrament Catholic school
Provide careful and effective supervision of children's activities in after-school care
Provides age-appropriate instructional/recreational activities for children enrolled in the after-care program
Supervises and maintains proper student behavior per school policies
Follows established procedures to ensure the safety and welfare of students
Maintains confidentiality and discretion regarding school and classroom matters
Communicates with parents regarding all after-school care matters
Collaborates with the principal to recruit, interview, and recommend the hiring of staff
Supervise after-school care teachers
Maintains records for the after-school care program
Reviews, evaluates and maintains the program for state compliance
Attends faculty and staff meetings as required by the principal
Manages after-school care sign-up and rosters
Manages billing of families who attend after-school care
Interact positively with parents and refer appropriate questions and concerns to the after-school care director
Maintain a clean and safe physical environment
Report unsafe equipment or program supply concerns to appropriate supervisors
Other duties as assigned by the school principal or preschool director
