Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Facilitate all communication between staff, peers, and all religious settings used by the Catholic Archdiocese of Denver, such as Mass, religious education, meetings, funerals, weddings, confirmations, throughout the Archdiocese.

2. Collaborate and follow direction from the Interpreter Coordinator, Priest, and staff as needed to provide appropriate interpretation for the Deaf or Hard of Hearing.

3. Adapt Signing level and mode of communication needs of the consumers such as Deaf/Hard of Hearing and Hearing.

Education and Training

1. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.

2. Associates degree in interpreting or related degree.

3. A CDE Educational Interpreter Authorization, EIPA Certification or National Interpreter Certification.

4. Interpreter Coordinator will train and mentor as needed for religious sign terminology, customs, and traditions.

Skills, Knowledge, and Ability

1. Maintain Confidentiality and ethics in all aspects of the job.

2. Adhere to the Catholic Archdiocese rules and regulations.

3. Maintain and Adhere to the Code of Ethics of Interpreting.

4. Demonstrate good communication skills including: American Sign Language, verbal and writing.

5. Maintaining Credentials for Interpreting.
