THE POSITION: The Associate Director is responsible for the coordination, development, and implementation of the parish’s sacramental preparation programs and family faith formation initiatives. In collaboration with the Director of Family Ministries, the Pastor, and the leadership team, the Associate Director will research the best curriculum and methodological approaches to family catechesis and faith formation and build according to the plan of the parish. The Associate Director will also oversee and be actively involved in the recruitment and training of catechists and other volunteers who will serve in the parish’s formation programs. This position requires a dynamic leader who can interact with a variety of personalities, communicate vision and expectations effectively, and is passionate about helping families embrace their mission as a domestic Church.

 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Essential duties and responsibilities of the Associate Director include the following:

  • Implement the evangelization and catechetical programs and initiatives of the parish aimed at children, parents of children, and the entire family;
  • Actively recruit volunteer catechists oversee catechist training;
  • Coordination of effective curriculums which strengthen the faith life of families and children;
  • Manage weekly and seasonal catechesis and ensure that catechetical needs are being met in all programs;
  • Collect and manage all necessary files, documentation, and paperwork associated with sacrament preparation and sponsor eligibility;
  • Collaborate with the Director of Family Life Ministries in the planning and development of initiatives;
  • Collaborate with the Director of Youth Ministry to strengthen connections between programs for children and families and youth ministry programs;
  • Meet regularly with the Director of Family Life Ministries to report on progress;
  • Coordinate, plan, and implement Summer catechetical programs i.e Totus Tuus
  • Perform any other duties or special projects assigned by Supervisors.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • College degree required
  • Focus in theology, catechetics, education or related field preferred;
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be in the communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally living out the five precepts of the Church (CCC 2041-2043);
  • Must refrain from promotion of, or the living out of, any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the Archdiocese of Denver, or considered to be in contradiction with Catholic doctrine or morals;
  • Experience in teaching, education, or faith formation preferred;
  • Experience managing volunteers preferred;
  • Competency in digital/online communication platforms. Comfortable in organizing and managing meetings and communication in Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and other platforms.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Position requires ability to frequently lift/move objects of up to 10 pounds in weight, and occasionally lift/move objects of up to 25 pounds in weight.
  • Position involves office work
