Community of Grace, a Presbyterian Church is a mid-size church in Arvada, CO. We are rewarding, inclusive, collaborative and our mission is to demonstrate Christ's love to one another, our community, and the world. The congregations of Arvada Presbyterian Church and Trinity Presbyterian Church are in the process of merging to form a larger mid-size combined church. We are seeking a high-energy and upbeat individual to fill the role of Communications and Membership Coordinator for the new merged congregation. We also seek a vibrant and compassionate person who models Christian values. This is a faith community where every person is welcome and accepted. The position requires versatility to communicate to all age groups and in multiple of technological ways (snail mail to social media - in person to virtual). The position is permanent part time, expected to be 20 hours per week (maybe more at beginning until summer). Salary is commensurate with experience plus cafeteria benefit choices (choices include healthcare, HRA, Retirement), vacation, sick leave, and support for continuing education. Position Overview and Primary Responsibilities:

The Communications and Membership Coordinator shall work collaboratively with other staff in carrying out a variety of communications responsibilities for Community of Grace

Primary Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the follow:

  • Compile, lay out, and print weekly Bulletin content, including announcements and prayer list.
  • Format and send weekly email blasts. Work with other staff in sending regular targeted email communications to lay leaders.
  • Be the primary staff person to answer phone calls.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings to determine communication priorities and goals.
  • Recruit, train, and coordinate office volunteers as needed.
  • As needed, additionally support tracking of appropriate background check status for other church volunteer positions.

Duties and Other Responsibilities:

1. Communications:

  • Update website content as needed.
  • Design and lay out routine print pieces, including brochures, Bulletin inserts, posters, flyers, enrollment forms and signage.
  • Collaborate with other staff to provide social media strategy and management.
  • Work with the Director of Music and Worship Tech to ensure copyright compliance for worship music.
  • Maintain the church calendar and schedule room use.

2. Membership:

  • Manage the church database and membership rolls.
  • Support the worship and fellowship committees.
  • Coordinate with the Clerk of Session to electronically submit the annual PCUSA statistical report.
  • Support the Deacons Prayer Chain ministry.

3. Other:

  • Attend other meetings as directed by the Pastor/Head of Staff.
  • Fill in for the Church Administrator as needed.
  • Work with the Church Administrator for purchasing and inventory.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualification Guidelines:

  • Experience and/or skill with graphic design software sufficient for weekly Bulletin layout, ideally including Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience or ability to acquire skills in web site content management software systems.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong gifts in administration.
  • Proactive attitude and temperament.
  • Excellent relational skills.
  • Strong work ethic with can-do attitude.
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, our Enterprise Resource Planning tool, Power Church.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
