The Director of Student Support Services will serve as an agent of the Associate Superintendent for Academic renewal and will be a lead disciple for the Catholic school community. This position will perform all responsibilities under the supervision of the Associate Superintendent for Academic Renewal, according to the teachings of the Catholic Church, the goals and objectives of the Office of Catholic Schools, and archdiocesan policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Actively participate in personal, spiritual, and intellectual growth and renewal as a lead disciple for the Catholic school community and root all actions, decision-making, leadership, and ministry in active prayer and sacramental life.

Serve the renewal of Catholic schools by developing, executing, and supervising, in collaboration with the OCS team, a vision for the holistic support of students with mental health and special education needs through an authentic Catholic worldview rooted in Christian anthropology and understanding of the human person.

Lead the implementation of the renewal and strengthening of inclusive Catholic education in the Archdiocese of Denver by participating in and contributing to the OCS regular meetings, Leadership Learning Days, New Leaders Institute, Catholic Educator Formation, and Credentialing Program, Leadership Formation Program, and other Office of Catholic Schools formation opportunities for teachers and school leaders.

Assist the Associate Superintendent in crafting policy regarding special education and mental health inclusion, and serve as a point of contact for policy implementation and interpretation.

Plan, develop, and implement expectations, structures, and systems that operationalize inclusive Catholic education within the vision and aims of Catholic education in the Archdiocese of Denver, for students with mild/moderate needs to students with profound needs.

Assist schools in inclusion work by providing or coordinating professional development and training in special education and mental health inclusion.

Develop, equip, capacitate, and empower learning specialists in schools across the Archdiocese of Denver to carry out inclusive student support for students with learning disabilities.

Under the direction of St. Raphael counseling, assist as needed in the developing, equipping, capacitating, and empowering school counselors, crisis teams, and school psychologists across the Archdiocese of Denver Catholic Schools.

Develop, equip, capacitate, and empower school leaders in navigating and accessing school-district provided services through LEAs, as well as available title money or federal funding (i.e., ESSER or EANS) to support education in Catholic schools.

Serve as the point person for many valuable partners in mental health and notable education inclusion in Catholic schools, including but not limited to St. Raphael counseling, FIRE Foundation/Ignite, Centura Health, etc.

Strategically visit schools to offer insights and guidance on the student support services provided by the school to advance the ongoing improvement of student support services.

Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION:
Requires bachelor's degree, master's preferred.

COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Be a fully initiated Catholic in the communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally live out the five precepts of the Church (CCC 2041-2043);

Refrain from promotion or approval of, or the living out of, any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause a scandal in relationship to, the Archdiocese of Denver or considered to be in contradiction with Catholic doctrine or morals;
