Full Job Description

POSITION: The Events Assistant is responsible for supporting the logistics of Pastoral Center Archdiocesan events and assisting in the managing meetings and events from various offices including but not limited to; Office of Catholic Schools, Continuing Formation for Clergy, Vicar General, Vicar for Clergy, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Serve as an assistant to the Activities and Events Manager and help assist in the planning and running of events from different ministries and Pastoral Center Offices.
Develop brochures, flyers, registration materials, event booklets, folders, nametags, etc., as needed for events.
Assist in planning and coordinating all aspects of the events for the Pastoral Center Staff:
Assist in planning and coordinating all aspects of the Volunteer Committee Advent party.
Assist the office of Evangelization and Family Life Ministry with event planning related to the Steubenville of the Rockies Conference, the Living the Catholic Faith Conference, and the Mountain Madness Junior High Conference
Assist the Office of Catholic Schools with planning and completion of various meetings and events.
As needed, assist other Archdiocesan offices with their events.
Assist in planning and coordinating meetings and events for the Continuing Formation for Clergy Office and the Vicar for Clergy Office.
Complete meeting set up for Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer
Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Be flexible and able to work under deadlines and in pressure situations.
Be available to work nights and weekends when needed for event and/or special projects.
Be available from time to time to travel for day-to-day business and well as say overnight at hotels/venues for events/meetings when necessary.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent, and one three years of general office experience.

Must possess a positive and supportive attitude toward the Catholic Church, her teachings, and her work.
Must refrain from public promotion or approval of, any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the Archdiocese of Denver, or be in contradiction with Catholic doctrine or morals.
Must present a positive professional image and always follow dress code.
Must be highly detailed oriented and possess excellent organizational skills, filing skills (both hard copy files and electronic files), verbal and written communication skills, and computer skills.
Must be an excellent proofreader and be well versed in accepted English language usage and grammar.
Must be able to compose simple but succinct and articulate correspondence, forms, tables, and charts.
Must possess excellent office management skills.
Must be committed and able to interact with diverse personalities, ages, and management levels positively, effectively, and efficiently both within the Archdioceses administrative offices and with outside entities such as parishes, service providers and event venue personnel both in person and on the phone.
Must possess excellent time management skills and be able to work on multiple events/projects simultaneously efficiently and effectively.
Must be highly competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, Access, Outlook, and One Note); must be able to create fillable Adobe Acrobat and Word documents and forms.
Must have some minimal graphic design skills.
Must always exercise discretion and diplomacy, and maintain patience, confidence, and composure under pressure and under adverse circumstances without compromising timely completion of projects.
Must be able to recognize sensitive issues and maintain strict confidentiality.
Must possess a valid drivers license.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Visual acuity both near and far, some travel involved, manual dexterity with good eye/hand coordination, good hearing, speech, and the ability to operate computer and mouse, copier, fax machine, printer, and telephone. Ability to lift to 25 lbs.
