Summary/Objective:

This position oversees the administrative efforts of the Family Ministries team, working toward freeing up the ministry staff to focus more on the pastoral and relational aspects of their roles.

 


Essential Functions:

  • Ensure that the Family Ministry staff is supported with various administrative tasks.
  • Keeps all current volunteers up to date with background checks and risk management. Communicates with Family Ministry staff on clearance status of volunteers.
  • Create and manage registration forms for all Family Ministry events (classes, camps, VBS, retreats, events, training, etc.).
  • Utilize every possible communication channel to advertise ministry programs/events.
  • Participate in team and staff meetings and other required activities.
  • Support all major Family Ministry events administratively (retreats, events, VBS, camps, etc.).
  • Ensure Family Ministry calendars are effectively managed in the church database and website.
  • Manage church database requirements for the Family Ministry department, including family profiles, data entry, complete communication lists, room reservations, and calendar input.
  • Complete monthly expense reports for the Family Ministry team.
  • Close out all Family Ministry events with statistics and financial transfers.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

 


Time Requirements:

This position will be completed 40 hours per week. This role will be performed Sunday through Thursday, with occasional evenings, Fridays or Saturdays, and holidays required.

 


Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment and uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, desktop computers, and telephones.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and frequently sit and stand for sustained periods; lift, push, pull items over 30 lbs; walk and reach with hands and arms.

Requirements:

Professional/Education

  • Ability to manage confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
  • 2+ years of experience in administrative roles.
  • Basic computer and communication skills.
  • Experience with budgets is a plus.
