RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be on time, every time, or give adequate notice if unable to work. Regular hours are Sunday mornings from 9:30-11:30AM. Some evenings on Christian holidays are required, like Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and Christmas Eve. Other evenings or special events may be requested as available.
- Foster a safe and supportive environment for families of all backgrounds and abilities. This includes following Covid-19 safety protocols (masks required, wipe down gently used toys, sanitize toys as needed).
- Warmly welcome and register each child, building trust and confidence, as you explain our procedures and take note of all special needs and requests.
- Offer age-appropriate care: holding, rocking, soothing, bottle feeding, putting down for naps, changing diapers, escorting to bathroom, actively playing on the floor.
- Receive training in and ensure full compliance with Safe Sanctuaries policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 18 years or older. Childcare experience and background check required.
- Have certification or willingness to be trained in CPR and Safe Gatherings (United Methodist protection protocols).
- Wellness: Demonstrates spiritual health and emotional intelligence/maturity.
- Collaborative: Enjoys working with others, gives and receives feedback in a constructive manner.
- Relational: Shows genuine interest in responding to the hopes and concerns of all families so that all are affirmed. Cultivates a space that feels warm, welcoming, and safe for all people.
- Dependable: Demonstrates high level of personal integrity. Fulfills expectations in a timely and thorough manner. Gives adequate notice if unable to work.
COMPENSATION

COVID-19 considerations:
Staff are required to wear masks, and entire church is strongly encouraged to do so, regular deep cleaning, nametags indicate preference: red=6+ft social distance, yellow=elbow/fist bumps ok, green=handshakes or hugs allowed.
