SUMMARY

Provides 24-30 weekly clinical hours of counseling and clinical assessment of adults, adolescents and children, couples and families according to program standards and procedures and consistent with Catholic teachings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains a caseload of counseling clients consistent with professional area of expertise
  • Psychologists conduct psychological assessments, particularly for psycho-educational evaluations and religious life assessment.
  • Consults with other providers or family members as appropriate to maintain clinical care and treatment planning
  • Refers client to supportive services to supplement treatment and counseling.
  • Completes necessary administrative duties (paperwork, etc.) timely and accurately.
  • Provide other professional services as needed, including presentations, crisis intervention, and consultation.
  • Performs appropriate case management based upon accepted standards and program policies.
  • Documents client contacts and progress in accordance with accepted charting standards.
  • Consults with groups and individuals when needed.
  • Participates in and contributes to the clinic team, including attending team meetings and a commitment to build a positive and collaborative team culture.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with referral sources and community agents.
  • Participates in clinical and agency supervision, consultation and staff training as required.
  • Provides education, training and/or planning in mental health human service issues as appropriate.
  • Supports, promotes and adheres to Catholic Charities' vision, mission, values and Code of Ethics.
  • Reflects Catholic Charities' commitment to treating all persons with dignity and respect.



Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • MA, Ph.D., or Psy.D. in clinical counseling, family and marriage counseling, social work, or clinical psychology (or equivalent degree)
  • Demonstrates strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand and convey to others the values and social teachings of the Catholic Church as they relate to the individual's treatment.
  • Ability to establish rapport with clients
  • Ability to work effectively within the framework of Catholic teachings.
  • Flexible and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Requires basic knowledge of computers to input data, write communications and generate report
  • Demonstrate skills and sensitivity to the cultural/linguistic differences of staff, clients and community.
  • Knowledge of the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and the appropriate techniques and practices for the client population.
  • Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Agency staff and with a diverse client base.



COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Salary: $65,000-$80,000
