THE POSITION: The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative and pastoral support to the office of Evangelization & Family Life Ministry which has teams that specialize in families, youth & young adults, marriage preparation, and evangelization. The Outreach Coordinator assists the work of the office in general by providing administrative, event and marketing support in all areas of faith formation and catechesis, parish trainings and workshops, and office communications. This position requires a dynamic person who can interact with a variety of personalities, easily adapt to quickly changing situations, and is passionate about helping parishes further the mission of Jesus Christ from maintenance to mission.

This position will require a broad familiarity and working knowledge of activities and resources concerning evangelization, discipleship, marriage, natural family planning, family life, youth ministry, young adult ministry, and campus ministry. Much of this knowledge will be provided on the job, but previous experience is desirable. Skills in grant writing, general administration support, social media, marketing, website editing, event coordinating, hospitality, and graphic design will be utilized in various collaborative projects in this role. Bi-lingual speaker is highly preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Essential duties and responsibilities of the Outreach Coordinator include the following:

  • Promote and organize trainings, retreats, workshops, meetings as the team creates
  • Work closely with team members from the Office of Evangelization and Family Life Ministries in providing optimum administration support to parishes in evangelization, discipleship, faith formation, and leadership development.
  • Manage all communication within the evangelization team. This will include but is not limited to frequent newsletters and communications via MailChimp, placing and answering phone calls with parish leaders and priests, the effective website editing of DenverParish.org and Archden.org, and confidence with social media & graphic design
  • Execute all team administration including grant writing, budgets, parish directories, team reimbursements, contracts, and event and meeting catering and logistics
  • Perform any other duties or special projects assigned by Supervisors

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • College degree preferred
  • Must possess a valid drivers license.

COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be in the communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally living out the five precepts of the Church (CCC 2041-2043);
  • Must refrain from promotion of, or the living out of, any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the Archdiocese of Denver, or considered to be in contradiction with Catholic doctrine or morals;
  • Bi-lingual Highly Preferred
  • Experience with website management.
  • Experience managing professional social media accounts preferred.
  • Experience with mass communication tools. Experience with MailChimp preferred.
  • Competency in digital/online communication platforms. Comfortable in organizing and managing meetings and communication in Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and other platforms.
  • Must be dynamic and enthusiastic about Catholicism and evangelization, taking a pivotal role in participating in the team efforts of the Office of Evangelization and Family Life Ministries;
  • Ability to work with individual parish leaders to determine best ways the Office of Evangelization and Family Life Ministries can help in various circumstances;
  • An ability to establish rapport, putting people at ease; show genuine interest in others' needs and feelings at appropriate times;
  • An ability to adjust constructively and flexibly to meet the requirements of different work situations; maintain patience, confidence and composure under pressure or adverse circumstances without compromising the timely completion of job duties;
  • Must possess superior organizational skills and attention to detail and ability to maintain strict confidence regarding all information and issues addressed under this position, in the department and all other ecclesiastically related entities of the Archdiocese of Denver;
  • Must recognize sensitive information and maintain strict confidentiality.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to travel to all areas of the Archdiocese, if required;
  • This position will involve sedentary, administrative work in an office environment;

Position requires ability to frequently lift/move objects of up to 10 pounds in weight, and occasionally lift/move objects of up to 25 pounds in weight
