The Pastoral Assistant is responsible for assisting the Pastor in the pastoral care and lifelong faith formation of the parishioners within the overall parish Mission. Working with the Pastor the Pastoral Assistant will focus on:
- Evangelization
- Active Parishioners - collaborate with the pastor, staff, and other committees to creatively plan and create strategies around renewal and formation ministries
- Inactive Community - creative efforts around outreach programs
- The Unchurched - developing and fostering a welcoming atmosphere
- Religious Education
- Parish Catechesis - plan and coordinate adult inquiry and family and youth faith formation opportunities
- Direct Family Faith Formation
- Coordinate and assist volunteers in the catechetical formation for the Sacraments (Family of Faith)
- Coordinate volunteers in parish adult and youth ministry
- RCIA Program - oversight of RCIA programs and coordination with Religious Education efforts
- Other programs - coordinate or serve as resource to ministries of outreach, welcome and renewal (e.g. Hospitality ministry, Pastoral Care to the Sick & Homebound, New member welcome and Sacramental preparation)

- Fostering conversion and growth in discipleship among the faithful
- Developing a welcoming community
- Animate and equip parishioners to evangelize by witness, word, and action
- Enhance communications within and beyond the parish community
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Theology, Education or related field
- Active Roman Catholic able to participate in the sacramental life of the Church
- Able to spend at least 2 days per week in the parish office
- Working knowledge of MS Office products
- Strong verbal, written and organizational skills
- Ability to work with people in a collaborative and professional manner
- Flexibility in working hours and management of your time (does require activities on weekends, and evenings)
- Visibly and actively engaged at parish events
- Other duties as assigned by Pastor
