Title: Food Service Driver Location: Denver Metro Social Services

Supervises: none Reports To AR & PA Shelter Managers

Schedule: Hourly Status: Temp FT

This is a full-time temporary position of approximately one year (ends 6/30/2022). This position pays $20.00 per hour and includes a sick time-off accrual.

Function: The position is responsible for pickups and deliveries of food items and goods from The Salvation Army kitchen, delivering to program sites within the Denver Metro and Aurora areas. This position requires weekend work. This position performs daily tasks including documentation, inventory, sorting, and providing customer service to The Salvation Army staff and vendors. Must be a responsible, self-starter. Must be professional in appearance and demeanor.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Safely and efficiently make pickups and deliveries as required.
Maintain ongoing professional relationships in all interpersonal contacts (note confidentiality requirements).
Complete assigned work with courtesy and respect, as our public communication affects the entire program.
Maintain appropriate documentation of all communications, visits, problems, and resources needed and provided.
Keep accurate and fully filled-out records and receipts and turn them in as soon as possible.
Assist in the internal processing and distribution of goods handling all food items in compliance with safe food handling procedures.
Put all food items into storage as instructed.
Provide general operational and maintenance support for vehicles/equipment (i.e., cleaning vehicles, assisting with moving materials, etc.).
Attend all staff meetings assigned.
Be always mindful of their role as a representative of The Salvation Army. This includes being sensitive to the needs of those we serve and those with whom we work.
Provide logistical support to The Salvation Army’s Denver Metro Social Services efforts when needed.

Qualifications: Education / Work Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Minimally 21 years of age with a valid Colorado Driver’s License and clean driving history is required.
Excellent interpersonal and liaison skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
General knowledge of The Salvation Army preferred.
Must be able to live 50 pounds without assistance.

Physical Requirements: Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull, and reach overhead. Ability to operate the telephone. Ability to lift to 25 pounds. Ability to access and produce information from the computer. Ability to understand written statements.
