SUMMARY

This position will work within the Adult and Senior Services Program at Catholic Charities and collaborate with other Catholic Charities ministries to expand services to seniors served by those programs and those living in the community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the daily operations of the Adult & Senior Services program. Provides direct participant service.
  • Assists with the recruitment, hiring, training, supervision, management, and evaluation of program employees/volunteers/interns.
  • Assists with the management of program Budget/Fundraising/Outreach/Marketing.
  • Uses creativity and innovation in program development and service delivery.
  • Provides professional case management services (including crisis intervention) to program participants to improve stability, self-sufficiency and personal well-being.
  • Determines necessary level of intervention, utilizing a client centered focus informed by Trauma Informed Practices.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities may include recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training and managing volunteers and interns; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires moderate to intermediate computer skills, basic accounting knowledge (budget tracking), excellent organization, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and the appropriate techniques and practices for the participant population to include experience with family dynamics, seniors, and older adults.
  • Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Agency staff and with a diverse participant base.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Master’s degree in Social Work or assigned specialty area from accredited four-year college or university and one-year related experience or training; or a Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from accredited four-year college or university; and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required.

Salary: $50,000 annually
