Blessed Sacrament Catholic School is seeking a caring, cooperative, and motivated administrative assistant for the 2021-2022 school year. The Administrative Assistant serves as the face of the school. He/she is responsible for greeting students, parents, and visitors and providing them with information about the school. The Administrative Assistant also oversees and manages the elementary office, collaborates with the Office Manager to perform all general administrative functions for the operation of the school, and supports teachers and students in their day-to-day needs. 

The Administrative Assistant is hired by and directly accountable to the principal. He/she is expected to abide by the policies and procedures of the local school, the Archdiocese of Denver, and the Office of Catholic Schools. The Administrative Assistant cooperates with the principal and staff in providing an environment that promotes the ministry of Catholic education.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties of the Administrative Assistant will include but are not limited to:

Fosters positive relationships with students, staff, and parents;

Answers incoming calls and addresses standard inquiries by phone or email;

Greets and directs visitors to the school;

Supports internal communication among school staff;

Sorts and distributes internal and external mail;

Maintains all office and school record-keeping systems;

Tracks records and reports related to incidents and accidents;

Records and monitors daily attendance;

Orders and organizes supplies and books;

Prepares letters and other documents for the school;

Maintains confidential records and student data information;

Attends to sick/injured students, distributes and records medications;

Monitors security of the front door;

Assist with fire and safety drills;

Coordinates and assists with school tours and marketing events;

Cooperate with the principal and staff members in school related meetings, activities, and projects;

Maintain a safe, orderly, and secure work environment.

Qualifications
Education and Experience: 

Requires a minimum of a high school degree; 

Compliance with Safe Environment requirements (after being hired).

Other Requirements:

Be a fully initiated Catholic in the communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally living out the five precepts of the Church (CCC 2041-2043);

Refrain from promotion or approval of, or the living out of, any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the Archdiocese of Denver, or considered to be in contradiction with Catholic doctrine or morals;

Work experience in an office or school environment;

Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information;

Passion for working with children and supporting educators;

Adept organizational, prioritization skills, and attention to detail;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; 

Possess computer skills and ability to learn all new programs;

Ability to work in a team environment;

Requires lifting up to 40 pounds and carrying up to 40 pounds;

Going up and down multiple flights of stairs daily;
