Minimum Qualifications:

  • Passion for working with children.
  • Level II Early Childhood Credential with the completion of ECE and 1 year experience working with Infants and/or Toddlers Preferred.
  • Certified as LEAD Teacher Level II with appropriate experience also acceptable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • At least 4 years of experience of tending to young children, specifically toddlers between the ages of 12 months to 36 months.
  • Must be a natural leader with the ability to lead by example, follow through and complete all tasks assigned.
  • Ability to collaborate the new Toddler Team and hold Toddler Caregiver s accountable.
  • Understand and enthusiastically supports the purpose of ILCS, our mission, vision, and core values, and will constantly strive towards the Marks of Discipleship.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in relationships with people and work effectively with team members to unselfishly support other staff members within the church and school.
  • Successfully complete a CBI background check and fingerprinting.
  • Knowledge and willingness to know and follow licensing, health dept. and all other rules and regulations for this field.
  • A servant heart and willingness to create a thriving environment for children.
  • Maintain Continuing Education hours to maintain Level II qualifications for Toddler Program.

 

Desired Skills:

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Excellent oral and written skills to professionally communicate and coordinate with parents and families.
  • Strong “people” skills – be approachable, friendly, and easy to talk to.
  • Ability to lead an organized classroom of toddlers and employees.
  • Strong organizational skills including a consistent follow-up process to ensure tasks are completed.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Caring for young toddlers between the ages of 12 months and 36 months.
  • Plan and implement daily schedule and activities for students.
  • Developing and implementing a curriculum for learning and fun activities that are interesting to your students.
  • Oversee play time.
  • Basic cleaning and pickup of the classroom and playground.
  • Putting children down for naps.
  • Changing diapers.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships among coworkers and families.
  • Responsible for overseeing Toddler Paraprofessionals' student records.
  • Responsible for overseeing Toddler Paraprofessionals’ tracking system for scheduling of students.
  • Responsible for scheduling employees and ensuring appropriate coverage including employee lunch coverage.
  • Responsible for purchasing food for snack and lunch and relying on Toddler Caregivers for weekly inventory.
  • Other duties as assigned.
