Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required
•
A willingness to learn about, engage with, and support the crafting and celebration of Catholic liturgy
•
Candidates having recently completed a year or more of volunteer service will be given preference
•
Participation experience (as a college student) with campus ministry programs, community service, and/or immersion programs
•
Demonstrated understanding of student experiences in a liberal arts setting
Responsibilities
•
Duties will include the mentoring of student ministers, assisting with leadership with a variety of retreats and social justice and advocacy programs, participation in regular staff meetings (professional meetings and meetings with student staff), being a member of the Liturgy Core-Team (including being present to coordinate Sunday Masses at least 2 Sundays per month), and assistance with a variety of other programs offered through University Ministry
•
Though mentored by the entire University Ministry team, the successful candidate will report directly to the Director of University Ministry
•
Retreats: Partner with the University Minister charged with overseeing & implementing the Connections Retreat for first-year students, serve as a staff co-director for a Kairos retreat, and help to facilitate at least one other retreat
•
Train and mentor student leaders through the stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation
•
This will involve weekly meetings, likely in the evening and/or weekend
•
Promote and recruit students for the retreats
•
Social Justice Formation & Experience: Responsibilities to include: partnering with a University Minister in helping to lead a delegation to the annual Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice in October, held in Washington, D.C
•
Travel with students to participate in the weekend trip
•
Assist one of the University Ministers in preparing for a Spring Break Immersion trip to Dolores Mission and Homeboy Industries in Boyle Heights, East Los Angeles, CA, and attend the Spring Break trip with the group of students and subsequent group reflection activities following the trip
•
Along with the rest of the University Ministry Professional Staff, be a mentor to a number of student employees who serve as student ministers within University Ministry
•
Assist the University Minister who supervises student ministers in their work study responsibilities
•
Meet regularly with 3-5 student ministers in 1-on-1 meetings for guidance and support
•
Work collegially as a member of the University Ministry team
•
Regular attendance at weekly staff meetings
•
Collaborate with another University Minister to plan and implement the monthly All-Staff events for student staff
•
Support various ministry programs/events: weekly Soul Check, Fall Festival, Lessons & Carols, Mardi Gras event, etc
•
Assist with University Ministry office duties, as needed
•
Engage in ongoing supervision with the Director of University Ministry
