Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality instruction to students in assigned core subjects.
- Provide Tutoring/DLI to small groups of students performing below level.
- Develop age appropriate and engaging lesson plans for assigned subject matters and create tutoring plan for students requiring individualized attention.
- Document progress of students receiving tutoring.
- Ensure all students in the class are tested at the beginning, middle and end of the school year as well as beginning and ending of summer camp.
- Comply with LLC training and professional development requirements.
- Serve as coach and mentor to After School Teacher Assistants and provide resources and guidance on an ongoing basis.
- Oversee the instruction delivered to all students by other teachers and aides; ensure excellent service delivery for the classes assigned.
- Work closely with Curriculum Manager and participate in the program quality improvement process.
- Maintain good records of necessary data such as attendance, assignment completion, test scores, report cards, and positive behaviors.
- Monitor & keep data of student progress, academic achievement, disciplinary actions, and awards with the help of the Teacher Aides.
- Assist with student enrichment activities, center-wide events and field trips as needed.
- Coordinate student, parent, and team meetings.
- Other tasks as requested by Curriculum Manager or Director.
Qualifications:
- Valid Florida Department of Education Teaching Certificate in Middle School grades; Temporary or professional required.
- Subject area competence in classes taught.
- Leadership Learning Center orientation and training and completed FDLE back-ground check.
- Excellent leadership qualities for teaching and leading teacher assistants.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work with children with disabilities as part of larger group of typical children.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact with diverse cultures and abilities, leading discussions and communicating effectively.
- Driven to the mission and vision for the education program.
- Must have a professional demeanor.
