The Archdiocese of Miami is hiring a highly qualified individual to serve as full-time Coordinator of Youth and Young Adult Ministry at the Pastoral Center, located in Miami Shores. Working under the Secretariat for Parish Life, this employee will continue the good work begun following the Second General Synod's pastoral plan to build a solid Youth & Young Adult Ministry Office which provides direction and serves as a resource to the parishes and schools of the archdiocese for the formation of youth and young adults. This includes the implementation of training to certify leaders in youth ministry, providing leadership to assist pastors in training large groups of young adults to serve as missionaries in their parishes, and event planning. The Coordinator of Youth and Young Adult Ministry is available to work occasional nights and weekends and performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:
• In collaboration with the manager, assists parishes in the development and continued growth of an effective plan for evangelization based on the current model of outreach, evangelization, discipleship, and mission process.
• Assists the manager of the OY&YA in the development of execution of training /formation opportunities.
• Assists in overseeing archdiocesan programs and events that lead youth deeper in faith development.
• Keeps the OY&YA contact database updated.
• Performs all Safe Environment verification of volunteers for youth events.
• Maintains the OY&YA website.
• Assists with travel logistics for pilgrimages and other travel events; accompanies the Manager of the OY&YA on trips as necessary.
• Assists with all aspects of OY&YA events, including, but not limited to, marketing, registration, hospitality, and execution.
• Assists with communication efforts within the Archdiocese and the larger community.
• Builds and maintain good relationships with church personnel in the parish, including priests, employees, volunteers in ministry, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree is required; minimum two years' experience in parish youth or young adult ministry.
• Preferred: master's degree in theology, or related field; and five (5) years' experience as an employee in a parish, school, or diocesan youth or young adult ministry.
• Knowledge of Roman Catholic Theology, Tradition, Ecclesiology, and the official teaching of the Church in the areas of Scripture, doctrine, morality, and spirituality with a demonstrated fidelity to these teachings and an ability to convey them effectively.
• Knowledge of church documents and current resources, processes and methodologies relating to evangelization, youth, and young adult ministry.
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Constant Contact a plus.
• Effective oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
• Proficiency in Spanish, written, read, and spoken, a plus.
• Good computer literacy, including ability to navigate online applications and search engines effectively.
• Knowledge/familiarity with streaming platforms like Facebook Live preferred.
• Knowledge of and experience with graphic design for purposes of creating flyers, brochures, and other similar materials.
• Event planning experience, including booking of locations, scheduling of participants and menu planning.
• Excellent customer service skills, including ability to maintain focus on and professionalism with people in challenging situations, both in person and by phone.
• Good time management, including ability to manage several projects at the same time.
• Demonstrated comfort in multi-cultural settings required.
• Must have a professional demeanor.
