Position Summary:
This is a non-exempt position responsible for conducting developmentally appropriate activities for children according to the Head Start Performance Standards (HS), Early Head Start Standards (EHS), Council on Accreditation (COA), and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) guidelines and to ensure compliance with all Performance Standards and Department of Children and Families (DCF) licensing, federal, state, and local laws requirements. The position requires that all documentation is conducted in accordance with regulatory body requirements, which includes Catholic Charities Policies and Procedures, the HS and EHS contract and the accreditation standards of the program. In this position demonstrates sensitivity to the cultural population we serve.
Educational & Experience Requirements:
· High School Diploma or GED
· 45 DCF hours
· CDA Infant/Toddler, CDA Preschool OR an active Birth through Five Child Care Credential awarded as a Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC)
· Teachers that are hired without an Infant and Toddler CDA or FCCPC will have 90 days from their date of hire to enroll in an Infant and Toddler CDA course with 18 months to complete the certification.
