Little FlowerCatholic School in Hollywood, Florida has an opening for a 5-8th Grade Social Studies teacher for immediate hire. This teacher will be expected to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program for Social Studies grades 5-8. The Middle School Social Studies teacher performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and tenets of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary will vary based on certification and years of experience.
Qualifications:
- BS / BA Degree in Social Studies Education or related field.
- Florida Department of Education certification in Social Sciences (History) 5-9 or Social Sciences 6-12 is required; temporary or professional.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Excellent presentation skills with use of instructional technologies
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel; PowerPoint a plus.
- Strong oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
- Good spelling and grammar required.
- Must be supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment preferred.
- Knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church.
- Must have a professional demeanor.
