Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Plan, organize, and implement the school’s ESE and ESOL programs.
  • Write, implement, and monitor individual learning plans (ILP) that will guide each student’s instructional program based on student assessments, needs and strengths.
  • Maintain accurate and complete ILP documentation as per ADOM.
  • Meet with parents to review ILP and record progress and concerns.
  • Serve as liaison with local school districts regarding the formulation of any IEP documents for St. Mary students.
  • Evaluate and analyze student evaluations.
  • Manage standardized testing accommodation requests.
  • Develop a schedule for before and after-school programming (Student Activities).
  • Supervise after-school programming.
  • Actively build strong relationships with parents, guardians, and families that foster trust, collaboration, and communication.
  • Demonstrate the ability to deal tactfully with students, personnel, family members, visitors, and others, while maintaining confidentiality of information learned in the position.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field with state certification.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Special Education or related field with state certification.
  • Effective oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice, required.
  • Good Creole and/or Spanish spoken communication skills strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated history of maintaining confidentiality concerning school matters.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required.
  • Ability to work with iPads and instructional technology resources.
  • Good computer literacy.
  • Good spelling and grammar required.
  • Excellent customer service skills, including ability to maintain focus and professionalism with people in challenging situations, both in person and by phone.
  • Good time management, including ability to manage several projects at the same time with accuracy.
  • Ability to relate to and influence others and to work in a collaborative and mission-focused environment as a team player.
  • Supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.
  • Must have a professional demeanor.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 per hour
