St. Timothy Parish School in Miami, Florida has an opening for a qualified Middle School Social Studies Teacher for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year. The applicant must be a dynamic and innovative educator with the ability to develop lessons that cultivate critical thinking skills and highly motivate students to be engaged learners. This teacher will be required to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program for Middle School Social Studies (Grades 6 – 8). The Social Studies teacher performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS/BA Degree in Education or Social Studies.
- FDOE Teaching Certificate in Social Sciences 6-8, temporary or professional required.
- Experience in teaching Middle School Social Studies preferred.
- Supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment preferred.
- Knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Ready to participate in collaborative curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Strong presentation skills with use of instructional technologies.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint a plus.
- Effective oral and written English language communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
- Good spelling and grammar required.
- Must have a professional demeanor.
