Position Overview
Leading and teaching a variety of sports, activities and planning. This position requires the teacher to be proficient in sports and sports agility instruction as well as administration, organization, leadership and facilities and equipment management. The teacher will assist with recruitment, coordinate parent volunteers, events and field trips.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and follow lesson plans
- Teach all sports classes
- Ensure student safety and supervision of students at all times
- Oversee student sign in sheets, assist with assessments
- Participate in Staff development, weekly meetings and evaluations
- Assist to establish and maintain an environment of physical and emotional safety based on respect at all levels
- Maintain equipment and ensure it is available and in good working condition
- Responsible for recruitment, retention and engagement
- Keeps track of students punctuality and participation in sessions
- Partnership and relationship development:
- Monitor and quality control of services
- Serve as youth role model through a positive mentorship relationship
Requirements:
- Bachelors preferred, OR equivalent experience in the field
- Athletic and in good health
- Experience working with at risk youth
- Must pass a Level 2 Background Screening
- Excellent organization, leadership and communication skills
- Bilingual preferred (English - Spanish)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
