Holy Family Church encountered an incident involving three teenagers who destroyed an angel's statute outside the church on Thursday, March 23, at around 10 p.m.

The New York Police Department is still looking into the case.

Teenage Vandals

According to The Tablet, surveillance cameras show two teenagers hauling the statue over the church gate. At the same time, the third one records them on a smartphone.

The footage obtained by the New York City Police Department reveals that one of the vandals is then seen running with the angel and crushing it to the ground, which causes it to crack.

Father Sean Suckiel wondered if there was more to it after watching a video in which one of the teenagers recorded the destruction and made fun of it.

However, Fr. Suckiel was not surprised because he noted that two nearby churches had been vandalized for the previous several months.

Although they were aware that a few months ago, the Mary's Nativity-St. Ann Church, located just down the road, was damaged, and there was an incident involving Saint Nicholas around Christmas; he was still sad about the incident.

He also added that they would find those youths who were responsible for it. Even if they believe in the power of forgiveness, they will make them answer for their actions.

Continuing Investigation

CBS New York reported that the New York City Police Department's Hate Crimes Task Force is continuing its investigation into the whereabouts of three adolescents who were spotted smashing a statue at Holy Family Church in the borough of Queens on security video.

According to the police, they consider the three suspects to be between the ages of 15 and 17.

A woman who is a mother to two children was filled with emotion when she learned about the damage outside her church in Fresh Meadows on Thursday night.

Cynthia, the mother of two teenagers, stated that the incident made her angry. It reportedly indicates that they have reached their lowest point, both in terms of strength and love, to attack the church in such a manner.

Moreover, a church member, Adelle, expressed her thoughts about the incident.

She stated that it was pretty challenging, but she believes that they are just being playful for the sake of being playful, which is unacceptable. They ought to show respect for the church.

Recent Church Vandal

An ugly attack that took place outside of St. Nicholas of Tolentine R.C. Church on Goethals Avenue in Jamaica on Thursday night left the nativity in shambles, according to a church official and stunned parishioner named Walter Ferrer, 55, who has helped set up the holy display for the previous three Christmas seasons, NYC Post reported.

Father Thomas Joseph, one of the parish priests, stated that the demonic couple arrived in front of the church on an electric scooter at 7:53 p.m. on Thursday and stood in front of the nativity scene.

The priest also explained that one of the lads had taken down the decorations, causing one of them to hit the plexiglass.

After that, "they went," but they came back around 9:45 p.m. and came back with their scooters.
