Easter is a joyous time in New York City, and there are a lot of activities and events to look forward to during this time. Some churches, in the city, including the most historic and beautiful ones, hold Easter services.

In addition, several parks in the city host Easter egg hunts for kids. It is fun to get outside and enjoy the beautiful spring weather.

Prepare ahead of time and keep an open mind if you want to have a good time celebrating Easter in New York City. It is always a good idea to have a few fallback plans in your back pocket in case the event or activity of your first choice is overbooked or full of participants when you show up.

The following is a list of suggestions that will help you make the most of your Easter holiday in New York City in 2023:

Attend Easter Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral

One of the most historically significant things to do in New York City on Easter is to attend Easter Sunday mass in the 200-year-old Neo-Gothic style Roman Catholic St. Patrick's Cathedral.

If attending a mass were not your thing, you can always tour the beautiful building alone or with a guide.

Bunnies in Bellaire

Celebrate the 2nd Annual Spring Fest in Queens, NY, on April 8 with City Council Member Nantasha Williams, Senator Leroy Comrie, Assemblywoman Alicia Hyndman, and Believe at Bellaire Inc.

Your children can get their faces painted, decorate Easter eggs, paint a canvas on easels, take home an Easter basket, ride ponies, jump on the bouncy houses, and participate in the relay race in an outdoor setting for free.

Magicians will astound you with their dazzling magic tricks and performances. Children who participate in their egg hunt receive individually wrapped candy rewards, small toys, cash awards, and larger goods for golden egg winners.

CMOM’s Annual Easter Celebration

The Children's Museum in Manhattan is happy to invite you to participate in the annual Easter celebration with them. The program series runs throughout the weekend and is designed exclusively for their younger guests and families.

Stop over to learn how to weave a basket, create eco-friendly Easter eggs, engage in interactive storytelling, and participate in various other fun activities.

Activities like these include making Easter baskets with a twist, painting bunny stamps, and designing eco-friendly Easter eggs.

Easter Parade and Bonnet Festival in NYC

This parade is all about hats, which are beautifully ornamented and range from the magnificent to the outrageous. This year, the Easter Parade and Bonnet Festival will be held on Sunday, April 9, at 10 a.m., from St. Patrick's Cathedral on Fifth Avenue and 50th Street up to 57th Street.

The event was first documented in the 1870s, and some participants may have been attired in clothing from that era. On the other hand, the elegant bonnets are the real show-stoppers in this collection.

If you were interested in participating, get your creative thinking cap on and start as quickly as possible on your chapeau creations.

Aside from this, the Easter Parade and Bonnet Festival would be a wonderful way to start the Easter celebration.

After it is over, you can head to one of the best brunches in the city to get some springtime nutrition.

Easter at SUMMIT One Vanderbilt

In the spirit of Easter, all guests to SUMMIT One Vanderbilt on Sunday, April 9, can participate in their egg hunt. Easter eggs will be hidden on all three floors of the mind-bending adventure. Those who discover one will receive a gift card to their boutique to purchase SUMMIT merchandise.

The Easter holiday provides an opportunity to spend time with family and friends while ushering in a new season.
