Full Job Description

CrossTown 119 Discipleship Staff

Our mission is to plant a gospel environment in CrossTown where disciples are made.

What do we mean "plant a gospel environment…"

  • “I am a product of my environment.” We hear this a lot in our community, and it always has a negative tone. We want to flip the script so that “I am a product of my environment” means CrossTown becomes a place where people flourish through the gospel
  • Just like an environment needs different elements (seeds, sunlight, water, soil, etc.) to be healthy, our community needs multiple elements to be healthy. CrossTown Ministries desires to be that collection of “elements” (CrossTown 119 is just one of many elements) that all work together to create a healthy gospel environment.

What do we mean "where disciples are made"

  • This MUST be the end goal. We will filter everything we do through this lens: Does this help us make disciples?
  • A disciple is a mature follower of Christ in every area of life.

Time

Full Time, 40 hrs/week

  • School Year: Monday – Friday, 10:30a – 6:30p
  • Summer Time: Monday – Friday 8:00a – 4:00p

Evaluation Period: Discipleship Staff will be given a 90 day evaluation period.

Compensation: $15/hr, No health insurance will be provided

Expectations

Commitment: We expect a very high level of commitment to the vision and mission of CrossTown Ministries

Commitment to Yourself: In order to disciple others, you must be a growing disciple of Jesus Christ yourself.

  • Must possess a willingness to be discipled.
  • Must possess a desire for maturity
  • Engage in weekly Bible studies, prayer, and life on life discipleship.
  • Assessments will be given to help you learn who God made you to be: strengths, leadership styles, etc.
  • Engage in personal daily rhythms (e.g. Bible reading and prayer)

Commitment to CrossTown Ministries

  • Internalize the vision
  • We are all representatives of CTM everywhere we go.

Commitment to the Staff Team

  • We are stronger together.
  • There is beauty and power in our differences.
  • Understand your own gifts and the gifts of your teammates, so that we can function like a team. If you don’t do your job, we all suffer.

Commitment to the Students

  • We expect you to be committed to the growth of every student in your care. This includes thinking through what each student is lacking and how you can help them grow.

Willingness to be held accountable: We will hold all employees to a high level of accountability

  • Because of the gospel, accountability is safe, not scary. We are not defined by our success or failure; we are defined by Christ’s finished work on the cross. Therefore, we can be honest and vulnerable about our shortcomings as a disciple of Christ. As a matter of fact, this is the only way we can truly grow…seeing where we need to grow, being honest about it, repenting, and asking God and our community to grow us.
  • Be prepared. Lack of preparation will be grounds for termination. This includes games, crafts, academics, Fun Friday, etc.)
  • Be present. We need to be ready for every opportunity for discipleship.
  • Discipleship Staff will engage in a weekly accountability/feedback meeting. This meeting will give leadership an opportunity to offer feedback on how employees are doing at making disciples through CrossTown 119.
  • Discipleship Staff will document their hours to be held accountable.
